Start Today offers focused, single-session counselling without requiring a long-term commitment. Begin with a free 10-minute consultation, book a full Start Today Session, or return for a shorter Momentum Session when another focused session would help.

Single-session counselling can support one person or several people working through a shared concern. The format stays focused: one session, one goal, and a practical direction forward.

Group pricing is per person, including groups of two. Couple and family sessions use the flat couple-and-family rate above.
How it works
Choose a time that works for you. No referral, pressure, or obligation. This introductory consultation helps us understand what you are looking for and identify an appropriate next step. This may include booking a session, providing a referral, or directing you to appropriate crisis or emergency support when needed.
Have a focused, single-session counselling appointment with a licensed professional about what is happening and what you would like to move toward.
Book a Momentum Session (a single follow-up appointment), receive a referral, explore longer-term support, or leave with a practical direction forward.
Meet your therapist
I’m a couple and family therapist and psychotherapist with nearly a decade of clinical experience working with individuals, couples, and groups.
My approach is relational, collaborative, and goal-oriented. I help clients identify unhelpful patterns, strengthen emotional safety, and develop practical strategies for meaningful and sustainable change.
Julia has extensive experience supporting clients through life transitions, relationship distress, communication difficulties, conflict, emotional disconnection, grief, parenting stress, anxiety, mood concerns, and burnout.
In her work with couples, she focuses on improving communication, deepening connection, strengthening emotional safety, and helping partners build healthier and more adaptive ways of relating.
Her practice integrates evidence-informed interventions within a trauma-informed, client-centred, relational, and goal-oriented approach.
Julia currently works in a university-based wellness setting, where she provides individual therapy, group interventions, and wellness workshops within a stepped-care model. She also maintains a private practice supporting individuals and couples.
She is a queer-allied counsellor with extensive experience supporting queer young adults and places strong importance on creating a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental therapeutic space.
Julia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, and a Master’s degree in Couple and Family Therapy from McGill University.
Julia is a member in good standing of the Ordre des travailleurs sociaux et des thérapeutes conjugaux et familiaux du Québec (OTSTCFQ) and practises as a couple and family therapist and psychotherapist.
