Meet your therapist

Hi, I’m Julia.

Julia is a Couple and Family Therapist and Psychotherapist with nearly a decade of clinical experience working with individuals and couples.

Her approach is relational, collaborative, and goal-oriented. She helps clients identify unhelpful patterns, strengthen emotional safety, and develop practical strategies for meaningful and sustainable change.

More about Julia

Julia has strong experience in life transitions and works with clients navigating relationship distress, communication difficulties, conflict, emotional disconnection, grief, parenting stress, anxiety, mood concerns, and burnout. In her work with couples, she focuses on improving communication, deepening connection, and supporting partners in building healthier and more adaptive ways of relating. Her practice integrates evidence-based interventions within a trauma-informed and client-centred framework.

Julia currently works in a university-based wellness setting, providing individual therapy, group interventions and wellness workshops within a stepped-care model. She is a queer-allied counsellor with extensive experience supporting queer young adults and places strong importance on creating a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental therapeutic space.

Julia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, and a Master’s degree in Couple and Family Therapy from McGill University.

She is a member in good standing of the Ordre des travailleurs sociaux et des thérapeutes conjugaux et familiaux du Québec (OTSTCFQ) as a Couple and Family Therapist and of the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ) as a Psychotherapist.

We’ve got answers.

What is the free 10-minute conversation?

It is a brief introductory conversation designed to help you understand whether Start Today is a suitable next step.

Is the 10-minute conversation therapy?

No. It is an introductory consultation and does not replace assessment, therapy, emergency care, or crisis support.

Do I have to continue after my first session?

No. Start Today is designed without pressure or a required long-term commitment.

What concerns can Start Today help with?

People may come for support with stress, anxiety, relationships, work, parenting, decision-making, grief, burnout, or simply feeling stuck. Suitability is determined by the therapist.

What happens if I need longer-term support?

The therapist may recommend another Start Today session, ongoing therapy, a specialist, a physician, or another appropriate resource.

Is Start Today a crisis service?
